Stuck in the middle of a tough decison, Alex realizes that his best friend has been abusing his girlfriend for as long as they've been dating. He doesn't want to lose his best friend because he feels wrong doing that but at the same time he feels terrible for letting this abuse continue. In the midst of this hard decison it seems as though Alex doesn't know how to handle it and as a result makes bad decison after bad decison.

After murdering his best friend, Alex finds himself in an interrogation room being questioned on why he did it but he doesn't seem to remember much. More time passes and Alex meets some trusted friends (or so he thinks) only to find out that everything he has been living for as long as he can remember has been a lie. Everything he's done has been strictly controlled by a person on the outside who calls himself The Controller. Alex's goal is to find a way out of this hellish world into the real world, track down The Controller, and find out why he did this to him.

Andy is a determined writer who is also battling a terminal illness and his girlfriend Marissaa is upset with him because it seems that every day he chooses writing his story over spending time with her. One night they get into an especially heated argument and the next morning Andy wakes up inside of the story he's writing, everything changes.

The final piece of this series. Alex has been controlled this whole time but who has truly been in control hasn't presented itself until now. Alex finds everything has really been controlled by the devil
